An amazing runway dress from Valli who has risen to have become one of the modern design greats. This particular dress is from the Spring 2008 collection and dates prior to his rise to being accepted as a proper couturier. This makes these early collections important and early pieces in his career and will surely rise in value as time passes. Here you can see the Grecian influence and master tailoring in the use and cutting of the pleated silk chiffon. The dress has his signature baby doll feel and is constructed of yards and yards of knife pleated silk chiffon all cleverly laid to highlight and flatter the body. The neck is cut wide and high while the back has a slight puffed and bloused feel. The waist is caught up with a wide expanse of silk that ties in the front to add shape through the waist. The skirt flounces over the hip in a cloud of silk chiffon and is constructed of two separate layers of silk so it has a natural fullness and movement. A well documented piece that is also very lovely. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a white silk crepe through the bodice and the skirt is made of two layers of the silk chiffon. The inner layer of the skirt has a wide panel of stiffened silk organza to give it some weight. Hand finished interior. Tagged a 40/XS
